Check an LGMG articulated boom lift's platform height, working height, horizontal outreach, width and separate stowed and transport dimensions before ordering. For the AR14J reference configuration examined here, working height is 16.09 m, while platform height is 14.09 m. Those figures answer different questions and should not be exchanged in a quotation.
The example below uses LGMG's global AR14J specification page and its brochure effective May 2023, checked on 11 October 2026. It is a reference for that configuration, not a statement about every AR-series machine or a confirmed specification for a particular serial number.
Which AR14J dimensions describe the work area?
Platform height identifies the platform deck's maximum height. Working height includes an operator-reach allowance. Horizontal outreach describes reach away from the machine, while up-and-over height addresses another part of the arm's positioning envelope.
| Reference field | AR14J metric figure |
|---|---|
| Maximum working height | 16.09 m |
| Maximum platform height | 14.09 m |
| Horizontal outreach | 7.67 m |
| Up-and-over height | 7.56 m |
| Overall width | 2.31 m |
| Stowed length | 6.77 m |
| Stowed height | 2.17 m |
| Transport length, jib tucked | 5.49 m |
| Transport height | 2.62 m |
These are separate reference dimensions. The maximum height and outreach do not establish a single position at which both are available. Check the working-range diagram for the actual work point and intended platform load.
Why are stowed and transport sizes different?
The AR14J example shows why a quotation should name the configuration behind each measurement: the published transport length is shorter than its stowed length, but the published transport height is taller than its stowed height.
Using the shortest length and lowest height from different configurations would describe a combination the figures do not establish. Ask for one complete set of delivery dimensions, together with the manufacturer's applicable transport instructions.
For a restricted entrance, record the clear opening and the route beyond it. An entrance-width check cannot establish that a machine can turn, pass overhead obstructions or reach a suitable standing position inside the site.
Does a suitable footprint mean the platform load is sufficient?
No. Machine dimensions and platform capacity are different checks. The same AR14J reference lists a platform capacity of 230 kg and a machine mass of 7,160 kg; neither figure should be substituted for the other.
Compare the platform rating with the combined intended load of occupants, tools and materials. Separately provide the machine's actual transport mass and dimensions to the carrier. Ground or floor suitability requires the relevant loading information and a site assessment, rather than a brochure mass alone.
Keep the full model suffix when comparing offers. An AR14J-H or another AR-series model needs its own specification and chart; a similar number does not justify borrowing the AR14J dimensions.
What information should you send with the enquiry?
Send the work-point height, horizontal offset, obstruction dimensions, access-route measurements and intended platform load. Add the destination, ground conditions and delivery constraints so the supplier can assess the complete requirement.
Use our LGMG AR14J listing as a starting point for identifying the model. Request the year, serial number, fitted options and corresponding documents for the actual machine offered. Confirm any difference from this reference before placing an order or booking transport.
